Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-07-21
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Sourceory (the "Service"),including the website, the REST API and the MCP server. By creating an account, saving a determination, generating an API key, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
What the Service is, and is not
Sourceory runs a Build America, Buy America domestic-content determination on a project bill of materials for a funding agency: iron and steel and construction materials on an all-manufacturing-in-US test, manufactured products on the 55 percent US component-cost test, citing the OMB or agency source behind every verdict. It also provides a free calculator that runs entirely in your browser, a JSON API and an MCP server so that software and AI agents can call the same engine. Signed-in users on a paid plan can save determinations, run large bills of materials, compare across agencies, and export the audit-ready record.
Sourceory provides Build America, Buy America compliance guidance based on published OMB and agency sources. It is not legal advice and not an official agency determination or waiver. BABA guidance and waivers are updated over time and are fact-specific. Always confirm against the funding agency's current guidance and your grant terms before certifying compliance or applying for a waiver.
The reference information we publish is provided as is. We make no warranty that any threshold, waiver category, verdict, or generated determination record is accurate, current, complete, or fit for your particular project. BABA guidance is updated by OMB and by each agency, waiver policy is fact-specific, and our ruleset is a curated subset of the more than 60 covered programs. Where we hold no guidance for a funding agency, the verdict says insufficient data rather than reporting a pass, and you are expected to confirm anything you rely on against the agency's current guidance and your grant terms before certifying compliance or applying for a waiver.
Accounts and API keys
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials and API keys confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account and your API keys, including calls made by software or AI agents you configure with them. A key value is shown once, at creation, and we store only a hash of it, so we cannot recover a lost key. Tell us right away at hello@sourceory.com if you suspect unauthorised access or a leaked key, and we will help you revoke it and issue a new one.
Determination records you generate
The determination-record export assembles a document from cited facts (the funding agency, the bill-of-materials lines and origins you supply, and the standard each line was checked against). It is a documentation aid for your bid file, not legal advice and not a guarantee that an agency will accept a compliance certification. You are responsible for reviewing and completing anything you submit to an agency.
Plans, billing and usage limits
Sourceory offers the following plans: Free (free), Pro ($49/month), Scale ($149/month). Paid plans are billed monthly in advance via Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings; your paid features remain active through the end of the period you have already paid for, and no partial-month refunds are issued except where required by law. The Free plan allows the single-run calculator with no saved history (see Pricing); paid plans include a monthly API call allowance, which is a hard ceiling: calls beyond it are refused with a rate_limited error rather than billed as overage. We may change prices or quotas going forward, with notice before your next renewal.
Acceptable use of the API and MCP server
The API and MCP server are open to anonymous callers at a low rate so that a developer or an agent can try a request from the documentation, and at your plan's published rate and monthly allowance once you send a key. Use consistent with those published limits is fair use. You agree not to:
- Exceed your plan's published rate limit or monthly allowance, or attempt to circumvent either (rotating keys, distributing calls across accounts, and so on);
- Systematically copy the ruleset in bulk in order to republish it as a competing reference, as distinct from using it within your own product or workflow;
- Attempt to reach other users' accounts, API keys, saved determinations or request logs, or reverse-engineer non-public parts of the Service; or
- Interfere with the Service's normal operation, including through automated load outside your plan's limits.
We may suspend or terminate accounts, or revoke API keys, that breach this section.
Your data
You own the bill-of-materials data and determination records you enter. We use them only to operate the Service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. Every user record is scoped to its owner by Row Level Security. You can delete a saved determination, revoke an API key, or close your account at any time. The published BABA thresholds and waiver categories themselves are drawn from public OMB and agency sources and remain ours to publish.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sourceory and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including a rejected bid, a disputed compliance certification, a threshold that was out of date or wrong for your grant terms, or a decision made by you or by an agent you configured, even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access, or revoke API keys, for breach of these Terms or for non-payment on a paid plan, with reasonable notice where practical.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email before it takes effect.
